Decorative canoe made of black werregue fiber, handcrafted by the Wounaan indigenous community on the Colombian Pacific coast. Werregue pieces represent the ancestral culture of the Wounaan, and each one reflects the identity of the artisan who creates it, sometimes taking up to three months to complete. The indigenous people weave the werregue fiber, which comes from a spiny palm tree that can reach up to 200 meters in height. Weaving this fiber is a true art form, and through it, they can produce a variety of products, featuring modern designs and figures representative of the Wounaan people.
