Moroccan mirror in metal and bone – Arch design

A traditional Moroccan arched mirror, inlaid with bone and metal, and decorated with figures typical of Arab culture. Handmade by Moroccan artisans using the traditional marquetry technique. This inlay technique is an ancient art form that requires skill and time to master. Each artisan can take several weeks to create these pieces, using animal bone that is shaped by hand-cutting, crushing, and sawing each piece to fit a specific design. Colored resin is then applied with a trowel over the entire surface. The resin and bone are sanded smooth and then polished for a final finish. This process, combined with the natural materials, gives each piece a distinctive character.
