This handmade bag is crafted using the Mopa Mopa or Pasto Varnish technique, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Colombia. This unique technique, unique in the world, is practiced by artisans from Nariño in a process inspired by nature. It begins with the collection of seeds from the buds of the Mopa Mopa plant. These seeds are then cooked, resulting in a rubbery mixture that is dyed with natural dyes and finally stretched into sheets. These sheets are then adhered to a wooden base, and finally, the colorful designs are cut with a scalpel.
